Brooklyn Duplex Renovation By Spacecutter

A dilapidated mid-1800s tenement has been totally restored and rejuvenated with modern day design. This urban dream home resides in the vibrant, sought-following neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn and was renovated by owner-architect Alex Gil of  Spacecutter for himself and his wife.

What stands out is the Corten steel cube structure which has grow to be the newly-added 4th floor of this 3-story building. With 2,300 square feet, the the third floor where the couple resides was completely gutted and reinforced with the needed structural elements that such an old creating would need. The building’s facade nevertheless features original details and framing, but now attributes new red brick and glass window panels.
